HISTORY OF OUR TEAM
In the Spring of 2019, Shelby Hobohm 21' officially founded our team. She was first introduced to moot court while studying abroad in Scotland and fell in love with learning how to apply the law to different sets of facts and arguing for a specific outcome. Her vision was to create an organization at UT Austin that allowed anyone to participate and learn about the law without a financial barrier.
Our team's first season was during the 2019-2020 school year. One of the first traditions we started was an overnight team retreat, that during the first year ended up being a camping trip. It was soon after that when practices officially started that the team's first Student Coach was appointed. Sarah Blakemore, a transfer student from Texas A&M. Sarah was the only member of the team to have prior AMCA experience and an extraordinary love for the law and teaching. As Student Coach, she shared that love and her immense legal knowledge with the team and ensured that every team member was prepared to compete.

Our team is truly unique in the passion that members bring to practice every week, and has seen amazing results in our first few years.
